Why 5-A-day?


You probably know that fruit and vegetables are very important for health and wellbeing. The 5-A-Day campaign is based on advice from the World Health Organization (WHO), which recommends eating a minimum of 5portions of fruit and vegetables to lower the risk of serious health problems, such as heart disease, stroke, and some types of cancer.


What counts as 5-A-Day?


A portion of fresh fruit or vegetables is Opt for tinned or canned fruit and vegetables in natural juice or water, with no added sugar or salt. 30g of dried fruit (this is equivalent to around 80g of fresh fruit) counts as 1 portion of your 5-A-Day.


Did you know?


I gram of Chlorella or Spirulina provides a similar amount of vitamin and minerals to 1000 grams of most fruit and vegetables. It is one of the easiest ways to help get your 5ADay.
